Mixed results as TESCON Alumni win 3–1 and TEIN UPSA edge TESCON UPSA 5–3

March 6, 2026 – Members of the Tertiary Students Confederacy of the New Patriotic Party (TESCON) and the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) engaged in two entertaining friendly football matches yesterday, featuring both alumni and current student teams. The matches produced exciting moments and a total of 12 goals across both games. TESCON Alumni Secure 3–1 Victory The first match of the day featured the alumni teams, where TESCON Alumni defeated TEIN Alumni 3–1 in a competitive encounter. TESCON Alumni showed experience and composure throughout the game, controlling much of the play and taking their chances well in front of goal. Their attacking efforts resulted in three goals, while TEIN Alumni managed a single consolation goal but could not close the gap. TEIN UPSA Win 5–3 in Students’ Clash The second match saw the current student teams take to the pitch in a thrilling encounter that produced eight goals. TEIN UPSA emerged victorious with a 5–3 win over TESCON UPSA, thanks to their clinical finishing and attacking display. TESCON UPSA also had their moments and scored three goals, but TEIN maintained the advantage to secure the win. Football Encourages Unity on Campus Beyond the results, the matches highlighted the friendly rivalry between TESCON and TEIN members at UPSA, while also creating an opportunity for students and alumni to interact through sports. With TESCON winning the alumni match (3–1) and TEIN UPSA winning the students’ game (5–3), the football event ended with both sides sharing honours after an entertaining day of competition.
