UPSA responds to industry demand with 16 new academic programmes

The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) has introduced 16 new academic programmes for the 2026 academic year, increasing its total number of accredited programmes to 73. The new programmes were developed to address emerging industry needs and equip students with skills required in today's evolving job market. Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show, UPSA Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Emmanuel Selassie Asamoah, said the programmes were designed to bridge critical skills gaps across various sectors while providing students with practical and industry-relevant training. The new offerings include BSc Agribusiness and Finance, BSc Applied French and Communication, BSc Data Science and Analytics, and BSc Applied Statistics. The University has also introduced specialised LLM programmes in International Business and Commercial Law, Natural Resources and Climate Change Law, and Competition and Consumer Protection Law. Prof. Asamoah reaffirmed UPSA's commitment to innovative, industry-focused education, stating that the University will continue to align its academic programmes with national development priorities and global workforce demands.
