UPSA SRC declares Isaac Osafo Junior and Michelle Osae Poku president-elect and vice president-elect after overwhelming victory

The Electoral Commission of the UPSA SRC has officially declared Isaac Osafo Junior and Michelle Osae Poku as President-elect and Vice President-elect, respectively, following a decisive victory in the 2026 SRC elections. According to the final and verified results released on the morning after polls, the presidential ticket secured a commanding 3,723 votes, representing 67.9% of the total ballots cast. Their closest contender, Leslead, garnered 1,717 votes (31.3%), while 46 ballots were rejected. The elections also saw keenly contested races across other portfolios. In the Auditor race, Joshua Boateng emerged victorious with 2,445 votes, representing 45.4% out of a total of 5,384 votes cast. Osborne Nyantakyi was elected as SRC Electoral Commissioner with 41.6% of 5,392 total votes. In the Financial Controller contest, Billgate won with 52.7%, defeating Mercy, who polled 46.8%, out of 5,403 total votes. Prince Owusu secured the Treasurer position with a strong 62.8% of 5,392 votes cast. For External Affairs, Fortune claimed victory with 42.2% of the 5,434 total votes. The Women’s Commissioner position was won by Team Samari & Akushika, who obtained 58.1% of the 5,448 votes cast. Victoria also secured a decisive win in the Secretary race with 63.3% of the votes. The outcome of the elections reflects a high level of student participation and engagement, with voter turnout exceeding 5,000 across all categories. The newly elected executives are expected to assume office in the coming weeks as they prepare to lead and represent the student.
