Vetting panel chair raises concerns over aspirants’ preparedness

The Chairperson of the 2026 UPSA SRC vetting panel, Miss Justina Odui, expressed mixed reactions to the performance of aspirants who have so far appeared before the committee, citing gaps in preparation and documentation. Speaking in an interview with Voice of UPSA, Miss Justina Odui noted that "while a few aspirants demonstrated strong knowledge and readiness, the majority failed to meet expectations" According to her, several candidates appeared before the panel without the required documentation, which limited the committee’s ability to properly assess them. She also observed that some aspirants lacked adequate understanding of the positions they are seeking to occupy. “Some of them came prepared, others didn’t. A number of them did not provide the necessary documents, and some also showed limited knowledge about the roles they are aspiring for,” she said. Despite these challenges, she acknowledged that a handful of candidates impressed the panel by meeting the expected standards. The vetting exercise is expected to continue , with hopes that subsequent candidates will show improved preparedness
