20-year-old Nana Konadu’s GMB 2026 win ends Bono’s 20-year crown drought

For 20 years, the Bono Region has waited to see one of its own win the Ghana’s Most Beautiful (GMB) crown. That wait came to an end on Sunday, October 18, 2026, when 20-year-old Nana Konadu Nhyiraba Obeng was crowned the winner of the 2026 edition of the pageant.
Hailing from Dormaa Ahenkro, Nana Konadu represented the Bono Region throughout the competition, showcasing her culture, traditions and communication skills. Her victory makes her the first contestant from the region to win the crown in the pageant’s 20-year history, marking a significant moment for the people of Bono.
Beyond the crown, her achievement highlights the importance of cultural representation and gives young people, particularly young women, an example to look up to. Her journey has also brought attention to the rich cultural heritage of the Bono Region and its place in Ghana’s cultural pageantry.
As Nana Konadu begins her reign as Ghana’s Most Beautiful 2026, expectations will be on how she uses the platform to promote her region’s culture and contribute to issues affecting communities. For the Bono Region, her victory is more than a pageant win. It is the end of a 20-year wait and the beginning of a new chapter.
