From ComSSA queen to Ghana’s Most Beautiful: Nana Konadu’s journey to national recognition

Nana Konadu, a student of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), has added another remarkable achievement to her success story after emerging winner of Ghana’s Most Beautiful (GMB) 2026, representing the Bono Region. Her victory on Sunday, October 18, 2026, marks a significant milestone in her journey, bringing national recognition to a young woman whose success at the university level preceded her triumph on one of Ghana’s prominent cultural platforms.
Before capturing the national crown, Nana Konadu had already made her mark at UPSA, where she emerged winner of the Communication Studies Student Association (ComSSA) Beauty Pageant. Her victory earned her recognition within the university community and marked an important milestone in her pageant journey. From winning the ComSSA crown to representing Bono Region on the national stage, her story reflects a progression from a university-level achievement to national recognition.
Her success at the ComSSA Beauty Pageant highlights the role student associations and university competitions can play in providing young people with opportunities to showcase their talents. Such platforms offer participants opportunities to develop confidence, public speaking, stage presence and the ability to connect with an audience. For Nana Konadu, winning the ComSSA crown became a defining achievement in her journey, preceding her emergence as Ghana’s Most Beautiful.
At GMB 2026, Nana Konadu represented Bono Region in a competition that celebrates Ghanaian culture, history, traditions and tourism. The pageant challenges contestants to demonstrate not only their presentation skills but also their knowledge of the regions and cultures they represent. Her participation gave her an opportunity to share cultural stories with a national audience while competing against representatives from other regions.
During the competition, she recorded notable achievements, including being named Star Performer for Week 10 during the One Africa Night episode. On that occasion, she represented Côte d’Ivoire, highlighting the country's history, food, cocoa industry, tourism and football culture. Her presentation also explored the story of Queen Abla Pokou and the cultural connections between Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire. She also received the Best Model award during Fashion Night, adding to her achievements throughout the competition.
These recognitions formed part of her journey to the grand finale, where she eventually emerged winner of Ghana’s Most Beautiful 2026. Her victory earned her a cash prize of GH¢200,000 and an MG ZS Deluxe Edition vehicle. More importantly, she made history for Bono Region by becoming its first winner of the competition, creating a moment of pride for the region and its people.
For the UPSA community, Nana Konadu’s achievement carries special significance. Her journey from winning the Communication Studies Student Association Beauty Pageant to claiming a national title demonstrates how university platforms can serve as stepping stones for students who wish to explore opportunities beyond the classroom. Her success provides an occasion for students to appreciate the value of participating in extracurricular activities while continuing to pursue their academic ambitions.
Her achievement also highlights the importance of cultural representation. Through GMB, Nana Konadu had the opportunity to represent Bono Region before a national audience, bringing attention to the region’s identity and heritage. Her victory demonstrates how pageants can provide a platform for cultural education and create opportunities for young women to contribute to conversations about Ghana’s history and traditions.
The two victories represent important milestones in her public journey. Winning the ComSSA Beauty Pageant brought her recognition within the UPSA community, while winning Ghana’s Most Beautiful expanded that recognition to the national level. Together, these achievements form a compelling story of a student who has progressed from a university pageant to a national cultural competition.
Nana Konadu’s journey from ComSSA queen to Ghana’s Most Beautiful 2026 is therefore a story worth celebrating within the UPSA community. It is a reminder that university life extends beyond lectures and examinations, creating opportunities for students to explore their interests, develop their abilities and pursue ambitions that bring recognition to themselves and their communities.
With the national crown now hers, Nana Konadu has made a mark on the 2026 edition of Ghana’s Most Beautiful and written a historic chapter for Bono Region. From her victory at the Communication Studies Student Association Beauty Pageant at UPSA to her success on the national stage, her achievements provide a reason for the university community to celebrate one of its own.
From the ComSSA crown at UPSA to the GMB crown on the national stage, Nana Konadu’s success represents a remarkable achievement for the student, the university community and Bono Region.
